Del Mar City Hall (AR403) Spring 2010

Continuing from the previous quarter, I picked a building on our proposed site and began to research/program/design it. In our first quarter of Urban Design, we noted that Del Mar lacked an adequate City Hall and also that the downtown district was strong at one end, and weak on the other. We proposed to place the new City Hall on the weak end of downtown Del Mar (south end) to establish a gesture of hello/goodbye to those entering and leaving Del Mar and as a whole it will create a stronger downtown district.
